Led by a seasoned herbalist with decades of experience, each hike blends plant identification, traditional herbal uses, and nature-based storytelling to awaken your senses and deepen your relationship with the natural world. Locals, visitors, families, and anyone curious about the healing plants of the Rockies. No prior herbal knowledge needed—just a love of nature and a willingness to explore.

Wild Food Forests and Building a Sancuary
Come walk our property in Glenhaven near Estes Park starting summer 2026. We have 8 acres that are being kept wild and a sanctuary for as many at-risk plants as we can grow in our climate. Please visit the United Plant Savers website to view at risk plants that you can grow in your yard.

Guided Hikes in Estes Park and Surrounding Areas
Hike along the trails and learn sustainable wildcrafting, plant identification, and preparation of plants. We focus on “invasive” plants that are great for making your home remedies. It’s important to know where wildcrafting is appropriate. It’s also important to know when not to wildcraft.
There are a few options to choose from:
Ouzel falls
Gem Lake
North Fork Trail
More options coming soon.
Hands on Herbalism
This course is a deep dive into understanding how to work with your local plants as medicine. We ask the important questions and learn how to discover the answers. This class is not for those looking to memorize “What a plant is good for.” No restrictive diets, no “hacks” to optimize your body. This is about starting your journey to real healing. Listening to your body, trusting your body, developing a loving relationship with your body, the earth, and your community.
Mountain Medicine. Beginning botany, adaptogens and Magic mushrooms
This three-day journey is to discover the world of Colorado’s native and adapted medicinal plants and fungi. You will begin by building a foundation in basic botany. Delve into the science and spirit of healing adaptogens, focusing on five potent plants and fungi that can be cultivated in Colorado. The final day is dedicated to exploring the life cycles and benefits of mushrooms like Turkey Tail, Lion’s Mane, and Reishi. We will examine the latest research and safety protocols surrounding psilocybin.
Herbal First Aid Kit
Step inside Chrystal’s personal herbal first aid kits—carefully curated and relied upon for over two decades—and learn how to craft your own plant-powered toolkit for everyday life and adventure.
Hiking Kit, Travel Kit and Home Kit
We’ll also discuss how to personalize your kits based on your lifestyle, health needs, and family dynamics. The final portion of class will be open for Q&A and collaborative discussion, where you can ask about specific herbs or conditions relevant to your household.
Herbal Perspective on Fitness Supplementation
Learn how to make effective supplements at home and have complete peace of mind in knowing what’s in your formulas. Suppliments are not regulated by the FDA and many products do not have what it says on the bottle. Some even have ingredients not listed on the bottle.
We will talk about some basic anatomy and current science in the world of sports nutrition and biology. This is not a class on how to hack the body for better performance. This is a class on how to get actual results that last forever in a safe way.
Witches and Weeds for the Immune Season
Explore the rich history and folklore of the cultural witch, from the symbolism of the cauldron and pointed hat to the evolving definition of witchcraft since the 12th century. We will then connect this historical narrative to the practical magic of the apothecary by learning to craft powerful herbal remedies for the immune season. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to create your garlic-infused honey, echinacea tincture, fire cider, and more. You will leave with not only a deeper appreciation for ancient traditions but also the tangible skills to support your health through the holiday season.
The Fungus Amung Us
Did you know that many mushroom supplements on the market are mostly starch and not the mushroom it’s self? Mushrooms are a strong ally in achieving and maintaining health. It’s important to know what part of the mushrooms to use and to have confidence in the quality you are getting.
Learn how to make your own mushroom preparations at a fraction of the cost at the store. We will focus on edible culinary mushrooms for wellness and discover uses for psilocybin medicinal mushrooms. I will share a multi facitied approach to responsible use of our fungi friends.
Celtic Ogham Tree Healing
Step into the ancient grove and reconnect with the wisdom of the trees. In this course, we’ll explore the healing, mythological, and practical uses of 13 sacred trees associated with the Celtic Ogham.
Through storytelling and hands-on learning you’ll discover: tree identification, Celtic lore, folk and medern uses, recipies and remedies.
Whether you’re an herbalist, nature lover, or seeker of ancestral wisdom, this course offers a powerful invitation to walk the path of the trees.
